Renewable Energy
Renewable energy comes from natural sources that are constantly replenished, like biofuels, sunlight and wind. These sources are abundant, and when harnessed effectively, can provide a limitless supply of clean energy.
Renewable energy, bright future
Since 2008, we have implemented numerous renewable energy projects, becoming a leader in renewable energy adoption within the healthcare sector. By investing in wind turbines, solar panels and biomass energy, among others, we have achieved energy independence and reduced our carbon footprint by more than 80 percent. Investing in clean energy sources allows our facilities to enhance resilience and ultimately contribute to a healthier planet.
Renewable energy projects

Biogas
Biogas is produced by converting organic waste into valuable energy. This process makes clean energy and reduces gas emissions by capturing methane that would have been released into the atmosphere.

Biomass boiler
We heat and power with renewable biomass from our region. Our biomass boilers utilize organic materials like wood pellets or chips to provide heating and hot water. This can lower carbon emissions significantly.

Geothermal energy
Geothermal harnesses heat from beneath the Earth’s surface. We utilize a geothermal well system, which takes advantage of the moderate temperatures underground to improve the efficiency of our HVAC equipment.

Microgrid
Our microgrid is an innovative renewable energy solution integrating solar power, battery storage and smart controls to enhance resilience, efficiency and sustainability in energy use while reducing carbon emissions.

Solar energy
We combine solar power into our energy system using hundreds of photovoltaic panels to produce clean electricity from the sun. This reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and supports energy independence.

Wind energy
We capture wind energy through strategically placed wind turbines to create renewable electricity. It helps us contribute to the growth of sustainable energy, environmental stewardship and a reliable power supply.
Reliable battery backup power in Tomah
Our Tomah Clinic demonstrates our commitment to improve the health of the environment and the communities we serve by investing in more efficient and cleaner emergency backup battery power. The clinic features a Tesla battery providing four hours of emergency power during an electrical outage. This new technology enables us to avoid relying on a gas burning backup generator.
