Swing Bed

Sometimes you need additional time to recover and heal following a hospital stay or surgery. Swing Bed is a Medicare program that offers short-term skilled care in a hospital setting. It’s available to all eligible individuals, even those who were hospitalized at another facility. Our multi-disciplinary team will work with you to develop a personalized recovery plan that meets your needs.

What is Swing Bed?

Our Swing Bed services allow you to recover from illness or surgery close to home in Friendship, even if you underwent care at another facility. Swing Bed is a Medicare-covered, hospital-based program for patients who no longer need inpatient services but are not ready to go home. They may still require some rehabilitation and/or nursing services.

Physical and occupational therapy

There’s no need to live with pain or a loss of movement or function. Our therapy staff have trained with world-renowned experts for over 20 years, enabling us to provide innovative treatment to patients of all ages. We lead the state in the number of Level One certified staff in Fascial Counterstrain. This treatment is designed to decrease pain and release spasms in all tissues of the body.

We have expertise in many treatment techniques, including breathing, spinal, dizziness, incontinence, lymphedema and manual therapy. We see patients for chronic conditions, injury, disease, surgery, developmental delays, chronic pain and systemic infections, such as Lyme disease. In addition to physical and occupational therapy, we offer speech and respiratory therapies and cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation.
