About Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics
Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics brings primary, specialty and emergency care to communities in Trempealeau, Jackson and Buffalo counties.
A century of caring

Doctor N.S. Simons and Dr. E.A. MacCornack were Whitehall Community Hospital's first doctors. The pair performed surgery in the Parker House, a residence on Whitehall's Dewey Street, and even did surgery in patients' homes before the hospital was built in 1917. It was their unwavering commitment to rural healthcare—and the many who followed—that set the foundation for cutting-edge healthcare in west-central Wisconsin.
Today, Gundersen Tri-County brings primary, specialty and emergency care to our neighbors in Trempealeau, Jackson and Buffalo counties. Our 24-bed critical access hospital in Whitehall provides both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation departments, family practice clinics, a specialty services clinic, lab, imaging, urgent care and a 24/7 emergency department.
