About Gundersen St. Joseph’s
Gundersen St. Joseph’s provides vital primary, specialty and emergency care in Hillsboro, Wis., and its neighboring rural communities.
World-class care, close to home
A lot has changed since Hillsboro's first hospital opened its doors in 1911 with just a few patient rooms. That's especially true when you consider that our state-of-the-art hospital offers world-class medical care in a modern facility close to Hillsboro's first.
About 60% of Gundersen Health System’s patients live where you do – in a rural community. Our affiliation with Gundersen cemented a commitment to local healthcare and expanded specialty services for all patients, bringing surgeons, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, gynecologists and more to your neighborhood.
Neighbors in and around Hillsboro have received care close to home for more than a century. Gundersen’s merger with Bellin Health Systems means we’ll be here for another 100 years and beyond.
Find a career to love
We lead from the heart – and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Our lively culture fosters the compassion and quality of care we provide.
From our administrator
At St. Joe’s, we have a passion for rural life not just rural healthcare. As one of the largest employers in the area, we have a duty to ensure we support our community through the good times and bad, working inside and outside of our walls, to get ahead of disease and give everyone the best possible chance to thrive.
To do this, we are breaking down old barriers to care by forging new partnerships to bring services and programs to our medically underserved area. We are in our local schools providing school nurses, behavioral health, and athletic training. We are in our community helping to grow our economies and nurture community collaboration and a sense of belonging. We are in your pocket through the MyChart app and Gundersen Pharmacy app. Most importantly, we are here when you need us most, advocating for you every step of the way.
If you need care but are worried about the cost, we understand and we encourage you to seek a free estimate for your care. We also never want you to have to decide between meeting your basic needs and making a payment on a medical bill, so I encourage you to enquire about our financial assistance program. It is free to apply and will not affect your credit score.
We are passionate about growing our own. Support us in growing our future healthcare workforce by donating to our scholarship program.
We also pride ourselves in taking care of our staff so that they can focus on taking care of our patients. If you are just as passionate about rural healthcare and want to join us in our mission, I invite you to explore our career opportunities.
Finally, if you are interested in knowing what we’re up to, I encourage you to follow us across our social media platforms on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Spotify.
Take care,
