You’ll spend a year learning our multi-disciplinary approach to bariatric patients and practicing advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Our fellows graduate prepared to establish a minimally invasive bariatric surgery or foregut program in an academic environment or private practice.

Our fellowship offers you robust operative surgical training for bariatric patients. We specialize in minimally invasive bariatric surgery—like laparoscopic gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy—while you’ll also gain valuable experience performing solid organ and anti-reflux, foregut and hernia surgery. After our year together, you’ll be prepared to practice or teach minimally invasive bariatric surgery.

You can become one in as little as 6 months with our no-cost medical assistant certification training program – and even get paid during your hands-on MA training. And when you finish the program, we have a rewarding MA job waiting for you at Gundersen.
