Three steps to healthier, fuller-looking hair: HydraFacial Keravive
It’s no secret that quality products and cosmetic treatments like facials help promote a healthy complexion. Far fewer people know that the same principles apply to scalp health, too! Like skin on other areas of your body, clogged follicles, dead cells and a lack of circulation can take a toll on your hair, specifically by making it look thinner. The good news is that healthier, fuller-looking hair is possible with groundbreaking treatments like HydraFacial™ Keravive® scalp treatment.
“HydraFacial™ Keravive® is a great treatment for anyone who’s interested in the overall health of their scalp and hair or wants to maintain healthy and fuller-looking hair,” says Lisa Green, a medical skincare technician in Dermatology at Gundersen Health System.
What is a HydraFacial™ Keravive® scalp treatment?
Keravive HydraFacial is a three-step, 90-day system specially designed to cleanse, nourish and hydrate your scalp for fuller and healthier hair. The three-step treatment process:
- Cleanses + exfoliates
- Hydrates + nourishes
- Extends + enhances
During the first and second steps, a skincare technician cleanses and exfoliates to remove impurities like dirt and oil from your scalp, then hydrates and nourishes your hair follicles with growth factors and skin protein to promote healthier, thicker-looking hair.
The last step includes using a HydraFacial Keravive Peptide Complex Spray at home for 30 days. One to two sprays daily on the treated areas of your scalp is all you need to nourish the hair follicles.
For best results, it’s recommended you return for in-office treatments once a month for three consecutive months. It’s also important to use the at-home spray as directed.
“The scalp is also part of your skin, and you must take care of your scalp and hair just like you would your skin by cleansing and exfoliating. You have to make sure you’re being consistent with the treatment for the full 90 days in order to see the kind of results you desire,” says Lisa.
What are the benefits of HydraFacial™ Keravive®?
- Promotes a healthier scalp and hair follicles
- Removes dirt, oil, flakes, dead skin cells and impurities
- Encourages fuller-looking, more nourished hair
- Is a non-invasive treatment
- Is suitable for all types of hair
What does a HydraFacial™ Keravive® scalp treatment feel like?
Some patients describe the treatment as relaxing. Others say it’s uncomfortable. The answer really depends on the sensitivity of your scalp.
“We put a little pressure on the HydraFacial wand as we do the procedure,” Lisa says. “That’s what helps cleanse your scalp and take out the impurities. If you have a very tender head, it may feel a little painful, but it’s well worth it. Your scalp will thank you.”
Do I need to do anything special to prepare for a HydraFacial™ Keravive® scalp treatment?
The short answer, not really. You will be asked to thoroughly cleanse and dry your hair before arriving for your appointment. You also will need to avoid having your hair colored at least two weeks before the treatment and two weeks after.
How much does HydraFacial™ Keravive® cost?
A package of three HydraFacial Keravive treatments is available for $1,000 (one treatment per month for three consecutive months). This treatment schedule is recommended to get the best results.
