  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Three to five years' experience in marketing or professional writing and editing, preferably in healthcare

  • Graphic design and strong writing skills desired

Job Description:

The Stewardship and Communications Specialist of Gundersen Medical Foundation under the direction of the Manager of Philanthropy Operations will coordinate and assist in all donor stewardship and communication efforts including marketing campaigns, donor events, media relations, collateral production and campaign deployment. The Stewardship and Communications Specialist liaises between the Foundation Philanthropy team, donors and Gundersen’s Corporate Communications and Marketing teams to elevate impactful stories of giving through local media channels, social media, reports for donors, donor events, Foundation publications and more to broaden awareness of and drive philanthropic support for the Foundation and Emplify by Gundersen.  This position will contribute to fundraising success, brand activation, community engagement and will create awareness of the critical needs of the health system.

Major Responsibilities:

1.    Supports the creation and implementation of innovative and creative content across all communication platforms, including website, social media, collateral materials and press releases, in partnership with Emplify by Gundersen's Corporate Communications and Marketing departments
2.    Executes strategic philanthropic stewardship activities, engagements and events for principal gift donors
3.    Ensures donors feel appreciated and informed about the impact of their gift(s)
4.    Supports monthly e-newsletter publication, biannual Pathfinders magazine publication and other publications as identified 
5.    Executes a variety of cultivation, recognition and engagement activities and communications
6.    Makes recommendations for and executes communication strategies related to the Foundation’s campaign activities
7.    Reviews and updates the Foundation’s stewardship matrix that identifies stewardship activities tied to various donor recognition levels 
8.    Produces  professional, compelling impact reports for donors
9.    Effectively manages multiple small to large-scale projects and events throughout the year and successfully meets project deadlines

10.    Manages Foundation social media pages
11.    Coordinates donor recognition by way of named spaces with Foundation and System leadership 
12.    Works in collaboration with Marketing and Corporate Communications to maintain, update and make recommendations to the Philanthropy website pages

13. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance

14. Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

Three to five years experience in marketing or professional writing and editing, preferably in healthcare.

Experience in handling and coordinating details of multiple projects simultaneously.

DESIRED

1-3 years stewardship coordination and/or development experience preferred.

1-3 years professional graphic design, social media, and event planning experience preferred.

1-3 years' experience working with public health and/or healthcare desired.

1-3 years' experience analyzing and evaluating the impact of website, social media, digital marketing and photo/video performance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
