Description
The Department of Orthopedics is recruiting for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join 2 Orthopedic Surgeons and 4 PA/NPs on staff. This person will work closely with the orthopedic surgeon(s) and Orthopedic PA/NPS. Major area of focus will be on adult reconstruction. Basic duties may include: OR equipment set-up, first assisting, rounding with in-patients, emergency evaluations, post-op checkups, outreach duties and general clinic practice. The PA/NP will support the assigned surgeon with histories, physicals, casting, splinting, evaluations, treatment planning and post-op care. This role will work cooperatively with, physical therapists, nurses and support staff and share call equally. A Wisconsin license and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program is required.

Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Advanced practice clinicians work under the direct supervision of a physician. Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all clinicians.
